“ LEADERSHIP IS ACTION NOT JUST POSITION ”
"Strive to do what you can, while you can, tomorrow might be too late".

My vision for the Historical Lancaster Avenue is the same as, the Lancaster Ave BA-Executive Management Team's vision for our commercial & resident communities.

We envision stronger communities with resident merchants and families regenerating pride in our area for the betterrment of all. Regaining stake in our community by reinvesting in our neighborhoods through revitalizing and rebuilding housing for families and businesses for employment opportunities for increased wages. Lancaster Avenue bridges the extended communities the length of the commercial corridor. I envision the Historical Lancaster Avenue cleaner and enhanced with beautification, through facade and streetscape improvements, greening and planting for environmental strengthening, increased ligthing and police presence for controlled criminal activity. Yes, collectively small business owners must take stake in the community that house and support them, working together to change our conditions, from every level of participation made possible.Collectively supporting grassroot efforts by addressing the needs of our communties by being an active contributor at the table of strategic planning, making our voices heard. Prioritizing our presence by being at the community meetings that count. Taking a stand by introducing your imput through constructive communication. I envision, as we think better, we become better, we become better because we as a unit pull up our sleeves and get to work, leading by example making the change we want to see. Businesses Helping Businesses and Businesses Helping Communties. If we want for change we have to become apart of the process of development that brings about change. If we want respect, we must give respect. If we want increased shopping, we have to market our products and survey our clientele to provide quality mechandise, If we want available safe parking for ourselves and our employees, we must support the initiatives that can make it possible. We Must Take Ownership, and become the leadership in position necessary to making the difference.

West Philadelphia is on the Move the question is will the Move eliminate those residential people who choose to invest in their homes and businesses for the empowerment of themselves and their communties. This city has great potential and destined for change, change targeted for great leadership, economic and community development. We have to make sure social development is not forgetting about Everyday People. West Philadelphia is on the Move while those WHO HAVE, revitalize and reclaim resident in a community that was unfortunately systematically targeted for failure. While the stablizing of diversity lies at the hands of those who places a band aide tring to cover a sore that has already elivated to disease level, the core of the dis ease needs healing from within. The community's people have to be recognized and embraced for change, there are people of this community who trully care about their present and the positive direction of their communities future.

We envision, that through the efforts of Everyday People representing themselves through strong grassroot organizations acting as firm entities, and demanding strong elective leaadership to join our plight by working with us and not against us, we can address the needs of our community's growth. We can recycle commerce back into our business and residential communities.Making LANCASTER AVE- THE RODEO DRIVE OF WEST PHILLY. A thriving business corridor, with strong anchor businesses, dining restaurants and service centers, etc. Supporting entrepreneurs by helping them to revitalize blighted properties currently robbing our district of increased revenue. We envision the corridor's image the same from 34th East through 63rd West ...bright and inviting to both resident and visiting shoppers.

The Lancaster Avenue Business Association-CDC provides the platform for local businesses to get involved. Meanwhile, the Historical Lancaster Avenue Business District will receive the attention it so very much needs. The question is will we stand on the side line and watch developers come in and buy up all the properties making change around us or will we become inclusive in the process of development. The betterment of the corridor can be made possible through efforts of the businesses and the residential communities working together, changing conditions in support of a quality of life that we value, yesterday, today and well into the future. By Supporting One Association, Speaking As One Voice, Representing As One Community, Uniting As One Strength, we can address the needs of our communities growth. By supporting Showcase Inc. / LABA-CDC programs and services designed to help the change come about, self empowerment will allow for direct ownership in the community we invest in. Redeveloping our businesses and the area that houses our businesses working towards changing our condition through motivation, cultivation and self interest. Together We Can, look upon our successes mustard from hard work and sweat equity, with humility and pride. I respect the pioneers who have come before. I also respect those who have taken the paton contining the vision and works of everyday people striving to survive getting involved simply because we care.
